Surf Alaska has been busy growing our sales and rental offerings this summer and we are excited to announce we have stand up paddleboards available for rent in both Homer and Anchorage.

Stand Up Alaska – (907) 312-9478 Based in Wasilla, Stand Up Alaska is offering SUP rentals, instruction, and guided trips. They also have a stock of new and used boards available for sale. Contact Tom and Marvat if you are looking to paddle board in the valley or greater Anchorage area.

In Homer you have two great options.

Ashore Water Taxi – (907) 235-2341 offers SUP and wetsuit rentals from their conveniently located office right by the Homer Small Boat Harbor on the Homer Spit. You can grab a board and just walk right across the street to the beach and go paddling! Or if you are feeling adventurous get a water taxi ride across the bay and explore some of Kachemak Bay State Park by paddleboard. You can call ahead to reserve a board, or just show up and they’ll take care of you.

True North Kayak – (907) 235-0708 No longer just kayaking! True North now offers SUP and wetsuit rentals as well as guided day trips in the Kachemak Bay State Park. They even have a fleet of boards up at a nearby glacial lake (Grewingk Glacier) where you can stand up paddle with icebergs!

Instruction is available in both Homer and Anchorage if you’d like some help getting started. Just ask about it when you call to setup your rental.

If you are in the Juneau area get in touch with Neil at Blue Nose Surf (907) 957-2996 and tell him we sent you. He can set you up with everything you need there including stand up paddleboards, wetsuits, and local knowledge to make the most of your Alaska SUP experience.

On other news, we are packing our bags for a SUP, surf, berry picking, gold panning exploration on the Milo. Leaving tonight! It’s a shakedown cruise for an exciting fall full of adventures ahead. If you are interested in coming out for a surf adventure of a lifetime check out the new website for the Milo:  www.OceanSwellVentures.com

Speaking of the packing, I better get back to it. Stay tuned for some new photos and stories.
